I have seen these images before, because I have a large collection of WWII era Better Homes & Gardens magazines. They were inside-the-front-cover, full page ads, obviously done at considerable expense.
Perhaps someone at the ad agency thought that if one shirtless, hairless, tan, athletic man caught the eye of a single woman with a paycheck to spend, perhaps a dozen men would inspire her to redocorate every bathroom she ever set foot in?
I'm now curious if there's a credit to the artist....
